Forensic Notebook DriveDock is designed for users who want a portable, write-blocked FireWire bridge. Forensic Notebook DriveDock delivers key features unavailable in any other solution, especially for 2.5-inch drives. It`s extremely small and fully self-contained. It`s write blocked, so it prevents accidental destruction of data. Forensic Notebook DriveDock is based on FireWire technology. FireWire is the perfect way to read hard drives, because it is driverless, and is plug and play under all recent versions of Windows and Macintosh operating systems. And because it`s based on the industry standard OXFW911 bridge, it`s also fast, allowing data to be read at sustained transfer rates of greater than 20MB/sec. Attaching Forensic Notebook DriveDock is simple. Plug it into the hard drive and attach a FireWire cable to the host computer. The drive will spin up and mount on the desktop. There is no driver software. Drive content may be read directly from the operating system (for instance, a Mac will read any Mac- or PC-formatted volume) or by using third party drive analysis software.
