Ford Classic Layered in 24 Karat Gold 1909 Ford Tourster 1909 Tourster- Last of the Door less Fords The Model T took the auto world by storm in 1909, increasing Fords sales by 70% even though demand was so high the factory stopped taking orders in May. The Tourster was actually the same car as the Tourabout but the top extended over both front and back seats. It was the first open Ford to have windshield, top, horn and lights as standard equipment. But what it lacked was doors. By 1910 the Touring Car, the same price but with doors, became the more practical car and the Tourster was discontinued.
